Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Courses
The Center for Procedural Skills & Simulation coordinates ATLS courses at Iowa Health Care.
ATLS Course Types, Costs, + Time Commitment:
ATLS Hybrid Course:
- For new providers or those who have an expired ATLS certification.
- Registration Fee: $900
- Course Length: 1.5 days
ATLS Refresher Course:
- For providers with current ATLS certifications who are renewing prior to expiration.
- Registration Fee: $500
-Course Length: .5 day (12:30 - 5PM)
ATLS Instructor Course:
- For certified providers wanting to teach future ATLS courses.
- Registration Fee: $900
- Course Length: 1 day
Course Policies
Please read the below information prior to registering and making payment. As space availability is limited per course, CPSS has the following registration policies.
- Course registrations are nonrefundable, unless CPSS must cancel a course due to weather or instructor availability.
- Registrations may be moved to a different course date with a 30-day notice. This allows time to find another participant to register and review course materials.
- Because of supply chain issues, physical copies of the course material may not be available. All ATLS study materials will be sent to you by email after successfully registering for a course. You may also contact CPSS (Iowa-simulation@uiowa.edu) and, if available, ATLS books can be sent for a fee of $30, which includes the ATLS book and priority mail shipping.

February 19th & 20th - Provider Course (1.5 Days) - FULL
March 6th - Refresher Course (.5 Day) - FULL
May 13th & 14th - Provider Course (1.5 Days)
Additional dates will be released for 2025 as they are confirmed.
**PLEASE DO NOT USE THE GENERAL PAYMENT OPTION TO PAY FOR AN ATLS COURSE THAT IS NOT LISTED. IF YOU DO NOT SEE A COURSE LISTED, IT IS BOOKED/CLOSED.**
Due to prerequisites required to attend an ATLS Instructor Course, please contact CPSS to determine eligibility.
